Oral Cancer Screening Process
At Big Horn Dental Clinic, we are able to perform a quick screening exam of your entire mouth to identify pre-cancerous and cancerous conditions – even if you haven’t experienced any symptoms yet. We’ll check your entire oral cavity including tongue, gums, lips and throat. If we do identify any problem areas, we’ll refer you to the proper specialist.
Symptoms of mouth or throat cancer may include*:
- sores that bleed easily or do not heal
- a thick or hard spot or lump
- a roughened or crusted area
- numbness, pain or tenderness
- a change in the way your teeth fit together when you bite down
